Can’t you do anything about the off the clock stuff? As far as runners, they’ve been around since Jesus was in short pants.
I fought that fight before, but it isn’t really my battle. These guys are adults if they want to be morons I let them do it. It’s the responsibility of management. to get them out of their trucks. I’m sure to remind them of that every time they complain about how much work they’ve got. It goes in one ear and out the other with these guys.

They will either have an injury, a crash, or will not make it to retirement without being crippled.

Funny, we stopped it at my bldg. But it cropped back up again years later. Sign of the times.

Had a young driver today (has seniority over me, of course) tell me his "power zone for mattresses is on his shoulder"
I explained to that using the cart in most instances is best, etc. He says "it takes too long"

Shoulder is a bad idea, although I would question how drivers are supposed to get those mattresses up three flights of stairs to floor 3 apartments? Really not possible to use a cart.
