Peak like volume!

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
All stop counts have changed over the years. My last bid before feeders I was on for close to 8 years and in that time the area changed 0, but my stop count went from 120 to 160 for 8 hours. This was before Orion and right around EDD start up.
Yep, routes that I could cake walk, became nightmares, and they were some of the furthest from the bldg.

What was once 8 hrs planned, is now 9-10 hrs planned. So I want to speculate drivers "going out under 8" are very likely being dispatched with a good bit more than 8 hrs and delivering Carol her $$$ and then some.
I couldn’t care less what they plan is, 8hours is eight hours for me. I’m heading back to the building at 7 1/2 and clocking out at my eight. i’ll have given them enough warning throughout the day that that was going to happen if they don’t wanna take care of the problem, that’s up to them.

I remember when my route had about 110-115, planned about 8.45 - 9 hrs. and was a bit heavy, roughly 60% business, 20 pup. Peak was around 150 and I had a helper. Now that route has been divided up a bit, depends on the day, but driver now goes out with 160-170 and is humping his ace off....barely gets 9 hrs planned. They basically put 50 stops on the route, now in a P12 over a P1000.

Yes, Don Corleone, but that’s an 8 hr request, what guarantee do I have that the rest of the week won’t blow up. I think that’s his point, they have increased what an 8 hour day is to the point of absurdity, in many cases, and it’s the new normal.

They always pushed the envelope as far as stops on car, even before the Diads. It was to see who was stupid enough to work through lunchtime. Now it’s ridiculous, everyone is acclimated to high stop counts.

I don’t know. I did 60 stops today. I’m the wrong person to ask.😂

I got knuckleheads in my center who load their truck off the clock skip their lunch due 220 stops by 4:30 and then cry because they’re forced to go help.😂 I feel exactly no sympathy for them.
Can’t you do anything about the off the clock stuff? As far as runners, they’ve been around since Jesus was in short pants.

I fought that fight before, but it isn’t really my battle. These guys are adults if they want to be morons I let them do it. It’s the responsibility of management. to get them out of their trucks. I’m sure to remind them of that every time they complain about how much work they’ve got. It goes in one ear and out the other with these guys.

They will either have an injury, a crash, or will not make it to retirement without being crippled.

Funny, we stopped it at my bldg. But it cropped back up again years later. Sign of the times.
