PEAK?

Plenty of Amazon in my Express truck.

I have heard from people who say Amazon has dropped Express in areas where they do their own deliveries. With the option to use Express this week if they can't handle it. If so, hope it's without the discount. My area has plenty of Amazon this peak, because we are a small market and they don't deliver around here.

If you think FDX has not been aware of this for a while, you are new to the party. Our director told us last year that Amazon has big plans and we are not in them. At that time Amazon was not taking any phone calls from FDX. New Amazon warehouse going up right next to airport. They will be using our old 747 parking spot at the ramp. They are having people trained on the 767 as we speak as they are currently leasing 20 of them from ATSG with that number expected to grow.

We have one route at the RT that does Amazon. He will go back to his old duties if Amazon disappears. In DGO it will probably be harder felt. Though at one time SDR service at a local station was comprised 75% amazon, which has been falling the last year and FDX has adjusted right along with it. Its not like we are getting all the Amazon and then one day they pull the account from us. Its happening, but its not happening overnight. Its slow enough where our business model can be adjusted as things change. It make be a shock to the frontline employees, but this isn't new news to the big picture people.

Exactly. FedEx and UPS have both stated that Amazon made up no more than 3 to 6 percent of total revenue. Not a big deal if they want to take a stab at transporting and delivering their own goods.

Initial reports are that they are having the same degree-of-control issues with contracted employees that Ground had, only worse. It's been an issue with their courier companies (LS, for example), people who use their own cars, and pilots. If they want the headache, they can have it.

That is way too many hours- how are you functioning?

I lost a temp last week. Had to work my max 14 hour drive on Saturday due to a snow_ice_melting_fog system and clocked out at 2200.

If he doesn't find a supplemental to help me out this final week, I'm gonna run out of 70 hours by Saturday

Hoss, my manager found another temp from the "investor class" pool... basically, from another contacted provider who had extra drivers , but operating under the umbrella Corp.

He took 70 stops from me and I'm still running 130~160 miles on my trip loop.

I clocked out at 2100 with a start time of 0930.

So, I'm gonna come in late (staggered start time) to have some elbow room in the building to preload my crap. My area knowledge of this route is actually well enough that I haven't used any of my 3 flashlights.

Weather is gonna cooperate this final week of peek. No Jack Frost coming to town, so I'm gonna be in my shorts all this time.

Have fun y'all

FedEx customers are freaking out because they see a Uhaul van/truck delivery their package(s). They think FedEX SHOULD SUPPLY MORE TRUCKS?

Heh, in my case, I yell BUDGET DELIVERY

I also don't knock after 2000, I double tap on the horn as I pull in their driveways, making their dogs bark

Must be nice to get paid OT, but I'm in a rental that's just over 10,000
