I retired in RI, package, and there’s no way anyone is getting 8K a month from that pension plan. Maybe half that.

Discussion came up this morning centering around making sure your spouse is listed as a benefactor for your pension if something were to happen...I did not know where to point people.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Depends on which pension fund and the State law you are in. Sometimes the law mandates it. Sometimes the fund defers to the spouse automatically. Call your pension fund and find out the rules.
