Giving deference to the leaders of other countries. good or bad, is simple diplomacy. Recognition of the position, whether acquired democratically or through force, is the first step towards communicating. Communication is the first step towards influencing. Positive influence is the first step towards a change of attitude. Changing their attitude is the first step towards peace.

Simple concept. Maybe you're too simple-minded to grasp it.

Last I remember, Cuba wasn’t a threat to it’s neighbors or a rogue nation on the verge of being a nuclear power. I may have missed something though.
You clearly didn’t see the Cuban missile that went off in Vegas last night.

The cuckservatives on this forum are so obsessed with Trump they are literally defending a brutal dictator who continues committing human rights violations on his people to this day. Pathetic.
Get a grip you deplorables!

Well said, the concept you proposed is good, as long as we have a leader that loves our country, and puts the citizens that duly elected him first.
We have such a leader now!
America first is not just a slogan to him, it's his heart. Quite frankly, we have a president that is not ashamed to say he loves this country.

You are literally talking decades ago.
Yes, and then the Soviet Union collapsed and they started seeing their support reduced. The thing is while the U.S. boycotted them Canadians, Europeans and others were still visiting. They could have built a decent economy based on tourism but they eschewed capitalism and thus kept their people impoverished. The Castros lived pretty well though.

Orders under Fidel's reign actually had some of my friends family members executed. That's ok, move along nothing to see here.

Until Obama came along and opened things up.

And then Trump closed it back down again.

But he loves him some fat boy Kim!
