Contrary to Trump’s Sunday statement and the repeated claims of his defenders, the Obama administration did not “ban visas for refugees from Iraq for six months.” For one thing, refugees don’t travel on visas. More importantly, while the flow of Iraqi refugees slowed significantly during the Obama administration’s review, refugees continued to be admitted to the United States during that time, and there was not a single month in which no Iraqis arrived here. In other words, while there were delays in processing, there was no outright ban.

Wet foot, dry foot does seem like a policy that should have ended when we decided to normalize relations with Cuba. I'm not entirely sure why Cubans were getting such special treatment anyway, but I'll admit I've never cared enough about it to do much research. Is Cuba that much worse than every other poor Caribbean island?

There's a big difference between Cubans no longer automatically getting political asylum as soon as they step foot in America and Trumps ban. Trump is banning people that have been following the proper procedures. Obama cancelling wet foot dry foot just stopped people getting free passes. If you like Trumps ban you should love ending wet foot, dry foot.

I'm actually for changing the whole immigration process. I think like I said before everything should be reviewed when a new administration takes over. which this isn't really a ban, it is a pause for 90 days which should happen regardless the president
