I wouldn’t hold your breath. It’s only gone one way, up.If the new contract doesn't eliminate or shorten progression to a few months this company is finished.
It has to be changed, young people aren't staying.I wouldn’t hold your breath. It’s only gone one way, up.
I agree. It was 2 years when I started and I thought that was ridiculous. It has to be changed, young people aren't staying.
Not the same. Amazon burns through the labor pool due to working them to the bone with insane work conditions. UPS just cannot retain a labour force, and they have good enough work conditions compared to most companies.UPS is burning through the labor pool like Amazon is doing.
I don’t know where you’re coworker started, but when I made seniority in 93, it was a 2 year progression. I don’t know if locals are different. My coworker that has been there for 19 years said it was 6 months when he started, then a year, then 2, now 4.
Legend has it that it used to be 30 days...I don’t know where you’re coworker started, but when I made seniority in 93, it was a 2 year progression. I don’t know if locals are different.
Cause nobody tells them the truth: Art. 37 means you can suck all you want until you find something you likeUPS is burning through the labor pool like Amazon is doing.
Pretty sure my dad missed that by one contract. I'll have to ask him.Legend has it that it used to be 30 days...

It was seniority in 30 days and a 1 year progression to top rate when I started but could be less depending on your job. It was about 9 months for me.Legend has it that it used to be 30 days...

2 years in 89. Likely the same contract? I believe it stayed that way for a few contracts.I don’t know where you’re coworker started, but when I made seniority in 93, it was a 2 year progression. I don’t know if locals are different.
Probably was.2 years in 89. Likely the same contract? I believe it stayed that way for a few contracts.
Heard they are going to just get rid of progression. Start new Drivers at 30. And just give them the general wage increase every year.
They have to do that, its sad seeing these kids getting taken advantage of. They aren't taking pride in their work and I cant blame them for it. They can make $20/hr stress free anywhere today.Heard they are going to just get rid of progression. Start new Drivers at 30. And just give them the general wage increase every year.
