PRU 401K Deduction?...

The Chosen 1

God, Family, UPSer
Just saw this newly "PRU 401K" deduction taken out my paycheck this week and was curious as to what exactly it may be... Can anyone give any insight on this?

Newbies are automatically enrolled in the 401k at a 3% contribution rate. You can reduce that to zero or increase it---your choice.

My advice? Keep it at 3% for now. You won't even notice it.

Also, this will automatically increase 1% each year up to a certain percentage...off the top of my head I do not remember. 6-8-10%? Something in that range.

Even when I was only a P/T sometimes I would jack the rate up to 17% .
When I got those retro checks for being a Year 1 Combo , half of the amount went right into the 401K .
I usually kept it around 8% , increasing by at least 1% each year I got closer to retirement .
