Another thing that blows my mind is that package cars won't get fueled on the 31st to save, say 300,000 in fueler hours, but having drivers do it on overtime on the 2nd will cost 1,000,000.

They suspended a guys truck for that here. Was out for two weeks. Union got his job back, full backpay.

Q4 has been a disaster for UPS.
The week after Christmas leading up to Q4 End will see severe cuts.
No fuel
No soap
No toliet paper
Bottom 25% of seniority drivers will be laid off in Maple Grove

It cost them so much for the successful purchase of the local 104 Union that they even had to cut the calendars this year.
