Making excuses? I don’t get that sense from my post at all. Slapping hoes and running the block with the Crips isn’t something most white listeners need to move up from.
The exact same to be said for black listeners. Or do you think that's just an inherently black thing?

The statistics on inner city poverty and crime don’t lie.
Wasn't talking about crime and poverty. But just keep moving that post eventually you'll get it through the uprights.

Cute distraction from the reality of what gangster rap actually is.

Wow, can’t win in your world.

Guy got himself out of the gang, became an entrepreneur, built affordable housing for his neighborhood, employed people, was in talks with the city and police about reducing gang violence, but he’s still just a gangsta rapper in your eyes.

He did some good stuff in LA before he died.

His gangster rap is still available from Apple here:

‎Nipsey Hussle on Apple Music

If anyone would like to join in on the viewer comment glorification of gang life, Nipsey’s “Fly Crippin’ can also be found on YouTube.

That song is from 8 years ago. I guess you don't have a problem with Apple profit off of it.

My point is that Nipsey did some good in LA for a few years before he died. His gangster rap songs live on worldwide. Far greater past and still ongoing harm done to the world than good done for LA.

Lot of 'conservative' nonsense on display here.

Get out of the 'thug' life, make something of yourself, bootstraps, etc.

Here's a guy who did just that, and more: still getting pilloried.

Wrong. trying to hang the responsibility of gangs worldwide on one rapper is this friend* idiotic. By the way I bet you own some apple stock. Your hypocrisy is really hilarious.

I never said Nipsey is the only rapper responsible for glorifying thug/gangster culture. Should go without saying that he’s not.

I think America in its entirety is responsible. Sex drugs and violence sells and that goes across all racial , economic and cultural differences.

Oh sure. But rap’s glorification of gang and thug culture in America's inner cities certainly doesn’t help.

On the other hand if people say they should be faithful to a spouse, don't do drugs, don't hurt others they get slammed by folks like you. Not cool, not hip, totally out of touch. If the world you live in is harsh, don't glorify it in your music. That just perpetuates it with impressionable youth. Just leave it behind. And if he was doing that, good for him.

Sometimes you may be better served by saying nothing.
