Ready to Strike?

I agree.

I believe if Part-timers could harness their voting power in solidarity they could write their ticket. They have an overwhelming number of votes but need a leader to be brave enough to try to organize their work group.

I agree part timers should get much more, in my experience part-timers have been and are marginalized at UPS, they have themselves partially to blame but not fully.

I personally think part time wage rates and progression should be identical to drivers.

I don’t see any reason they should not be treated equal the drivers, IMO they deserve equal money to package car drivers.

Part-time Power!!!
How many companies or industries have equal pay across the board? Especially part time and full time?

Even at union shops.....?

We agree on this.

The responsibilities and pressures on the full timers at UPS are considerably greater than the part time inside employees.

Their compensation should follow.

But this doesn't stop bold, unrealistic statements being made.

Simply, no company or industry is going to pay $40 to unload trucks.

Or cut grass.

Wash cars......whatever.

Nor will I vote to strike(note: didn't say not honor a strike) for this notion. Or a/c.

all unions have poor turnout.but most unions arn't divided pay wise the way ups teamsters are.
That is why a vocal minority can control unions.

IMO The silent majority are the ones who are really a bane to the existence of unions, their apathy leaves power and control in the hands of the vocal minority.

We need to be a leader here, to reintroduce the concept of a middle class and to show the advantages of a union to everyone who will be watching.

It is the goal of the elites and social engineers in this country to squeeze the middle class into submission. Like Obama's man Van Jones said: top down, bottom up, inside out.

Like George Carlin said, they don't give a :censored2: about you, they don't care about you at all, at ALL.

It's a big club, and you ain't in it.

all unions have poor voting but they dont having members making 15.50 and others making over 40 bucks.
Part-timers have an overwhelming majority of voting power in the UPS Teamsters. I believe they have been taught not to recognize and definitely not encouraged to use it.

Unrealistic. If Part-time UPS Teamsters were to find a way to harness the power of their vote, I think it is very realistic.

UPS Porters and car washers make about that much in my area.

To what?

Based on PT not designed to be a career or to support a family etc. But as perhaps a supplement......

What is that worth?

Good question.
How and when the Part-time workforce come about?

Do you know the original reason the Teamsters allowed part-time jobs?

No.

You’re turning apathy into a conspiracy theory.
It doesn’t work like that.
So you don’t think educating the UPS Part-time work force about the power they actually have by the sheer overwhelming majority vote the they hold is a possible means of flaming the fire of enthusiasm for the UPS Part-time Teamster rightful place in the rank and file if the UPS Teamsters?

Unfortunately the only thing many people see is how much of a pay increase we are getting
True but I don’t think if we go on strike the Union we come out stronger either. The public are not going to be sympathetic to someone making $41.51hr. In all honesty leave my pension and health care alone. Give me $5 raise like last time and I’m game.
