The bible lays it out.And you pick and choose what's evil and what isn't.
Justness. The golden rule.
Some ppl want to pretend it doesnt exist
The bible lays it out.And you pick and choose what's evil and what isn't.
If the authors of the bible were so fallible and should not be used for biblical guidance in life, then why in the world would I want to believe anything Hedges says. He's just as fallible and even more fallible than those authors.View attachment 512023

“There is enough hatred, bigotry and lust for violence in the pages of the Bible to satisfy anyone bent on justifying cruelty and violence.”www.nytimes.com
Who is pretending that? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. But you turn ordinary things into evil. A manager assigning you a task on the job is evil to you.The bible lays it out.
Justness. The golden rule.
Some ppl want to pretend it doesnt exist
Indifference to evil is more insidious than evil itself
I believe we can learn from the mistakes contained in it as well. But not all?
No different from you.And you pick and choose what's evil and what isn't.
And you decide which are mistakes.I believe we can learn from the mistakes contained in it as well.
This has always fascinated me about our differences. I believe that both of us are saved by the blood in Christ and salvation is the key for everything else you do in your life after that. Yet I believe that as fallible as we are as humans we need the gospel to go to for direction. If it's incorrect in places in it's teachings, then we are all being misled. We both walk with God's guidance but we come to different conclusions as to what sin is.The Bible is useful for religious instruction , no doubt.
I utilize some of its guidance as well.
Everyone does it. You as well..Like most people the parts he doesn’t like or are uncomfortable.
That would be between me and God.And you decide which are mistakes.
So are you saying the Bible is the Gospel? This has always fascinated me about our differences. I believe that both of us are saved by the blood in Christ and salvation is the key for everything else you do in your life after that. Yet I believe that as fallible as we are as humans we need the gospel to go to for direction. If it's incorrect in places in its teachings, then we are all being misled. But it isn't. You tell us all the time the Bible is a flawed book written by imperfect men. That would be between me and God.
Don’t like it? True. Don't believe it? not true. God‘s perfect plan is probably uncomfortable to most peoples flesh.Everyone does it. You as well..
It contains the Gospel within. You've said in the past we don't need the Bible at all but we are told within its pages how God sent.his Son to die for us. It contains a history of his life and teachings. Tells us how he died and arose from death. How exactly would we know all of that without the Bible? So are you saying the Bible is the Gospel?
I don’t know what your point is here but that’s not unusual. But it isn't. You tell us all the time the Bible is a flawed book written by imperfect men.
Yes, and you can actually only know God’s perfect plan if you actually personally know God not a book.Don’t like it? True. Don't believe it? not true. God‘s perfect plan is probably uncomfortable to most peoples flesh.
yes, and that the gospel is message, teaching, moral compass. It's the best source we have as a guide for life. The old testament is it's history lesson with the new testament being it's guide for His message and guide for moral compass guiding our life decisions. The ultimate message being "Jesus in our place".So are you saying the Bible is the Gospel?
If some of the Bible is not true, all of the Bible is not true and everything is a lie. That is the point.I don’t know what your point is here but that’s not unusual.
You said what you believe to be true and untrue about the Bible is between you and God. Yet you tell us all the time it's a flawed book that you are free to accept or reject.I don’t know what your point is here but that’s not unusual.
God is previous to everything. It contains the Gospel within. You've said in the past we don't need the Bible at all but we are told within its pages how God sent.his Son to die for us. It contains a history of his life and teachings. Tells us how he died and arose from death. How exactly would we know all of that without the Bible?
