The real leader in Philadelphia, Jumbo, is a 22.3 or 22.2 combo person. I believe he goes home, or stands outside the gate, the second part of his shift regularly from what I'm told.

I would be interested to know;

Does Jumbo have a "true" 22.2 job or a 22.3 ?

We had a similar dynamic here with Sam, who if he wasn't leaving early or not coming in at all, would be campaigning for one of his various "causes" on the clock, in the building.

What I never understood is why it was permitted by the Company and why the Local didn't pull some strings to make sure he was working his full shift daily and actually working while at work.

The Local should have required a friend/T employee to finish before being given the option for the second half. P/T employees must be sent home before friend/T. Article 22 involved creating full time jobs and not what he has turned it into. If you wanted to stay p/t, give it up so someone else can have it.

Being removed from an "appointed" position, is not the equivalent of being fired.

If it was.... then Fred Z was fired as Carhaul director.

It is, and was, the exact "equivalent of being fired" for them both.

These "appointed positions" were not without substantial monetary compensation, as well as a potential springboard for future prominence.

To pretend that it wasn't a significant development (being fired) is another shallow attempt to smooth over yet another political faux pas by Hoffa.

JC7 tried to claim that RA was not "vacated" from his President position so they weren't going to fill the opening during his suspension. This obviously flew against the punishment handed down by the judge, and she responded accordingly.

Interesting that the Judge went out of her way to mention that RA did not benefit personally from any of charges and that was why there was not a lifetime ban. Seemed like good reasoning. The cousin was given a job, BUT not a paycheck without actual work being performed. The company that was organized "improperly" did no benefit to RA other than trying to help a friend. The judge didn't like the political aspect of messing in other Locals politics but didn't seem to hark on it too badly.
