I know it’s not how you think…
You’re largely wrong about this particular subject…
I have a Tesla and a standard midtier gas sedan.

The sedan takes more time to refuel, requires more maintenance, is slower, and I leave it behind even for 500 mile trips.

EVs are simply better at most things. And they'll soon be cheaper, too.

You should consider the big picture before you chatter about how your particular situation should be extrapolated for "largely" every driver.
Your points above are so funny because they omit the very basic principles involved with a 500 mile trip...
LOL....Think Larger...

The 500 mile trip involves a 45 minute stop, once, each way. Most other drivers already have that anyway on a 500 mile trip.

I spend about 10 seconds a week charging it and doing maintenance. That's because I charge the Tesla once per week at home and it takes about 10 seconds to plug in.

Last year I did no maintenance of any kind. Not even wipers or tires. No oil changes. No filters. Nothing. I just drove it.

The gas car gets driven less because it's inferior, and it still takes more of my time to fill and maintain.

I already said electrics are inferior at long haul. Very few people do that more than once or twice per year. It's simply not a big deal to most people.

Yes, I explained. The Tesla takes 10 seconds per week. I drive about 200 miles in an average week. I charge it once per week and that involves 10 second to connect the charger to the car. Since I do sleep every day, the total time commitment is 10 seconds.

I don't have to stop, pull over, or find a station. It takes less time to fuel in an average week than a gas car. It removed a weekly errand.

Ah. The charging time is less than the refueling time of your gas sedan because you're typically asleep for it. Got it.

Most people can charge at home or work. Most people drive less than 300 miles per week.

Ergo, for most people, charging an electric vehicle will consume less of their time than filling up at a gas station.

Well you're Largely full of :censored2:. You may have inferred something about "long haul", but that's not "I already said..."

But, it's idiotic to "suggest" two cars...one for short and the other for "long haul"....

Get the big picture!

I didn't suggest two cars.. Most people do long haul so irregularly that it's worth the inconvenience of an electric, because electrics are so superior in every other respect.

My family usually rent a nice vehicle when going on a road trip vacation. A weeks rental fee is less then a one month car payment.

I just think they're mad that electric vehicles involve less headache and time commitment and inconvenience for most people. It's like it takes away their favorite thing to point out.

Most of them are working with 5 or 10 year old information about the state of EVs, too.

LOL....You seem to need to convince yourself about your purchase/lease....

That BS about how valuable your time is at the pump is weird because you think anyone will believe it...
Are you a salaried admin at FDX?
LOL

EVs are better at most things for most people. I'm sorry you can't admit it.
