State of the Business

Much more then sitting behind a desk thinking what donut to eat. Do I eat the glazed or chocolate? Ah what the hell I'll eat them both.
Nutrigrain bars actually, it's a tossup between strawberry and apple-cinnamon most days. But hey, why work on the road as a delivery driver when I can get paid more to desk surf?

It's not hard to be paid more than the drivers at ground when most of them are paid min wage. I'll give you that one as I would rather flip burgers than be a driver at ground. But it's funny that you act like you are paid a lot when you probably make about 13 or 14 an hour.

Yeah, because basic math and time management are so taxing.

Your average Ground driver can't figure-out they are getting screwed at $10-$12 per hour. My guess is that basic math and time management is beyond most of them. With your suck-up skills, there's probably a "leadership" position available in FedEx management.

Ok, I'll bite. With your arrogance what makes you so "superior" and what special "skill set" do you have other than being arrogant as hell?
I don't really think of myself as superior to anyone really. I just haven't pigeonholed myself like most of the couriers here seem to have. As for special skills, I am cross-trained in all aspects of station operations, and have fulfilled most of these roles. My intent is to get into engineering and design, likely within this company. What I refuse to do is allow myself to become a bitter old woman constantly complaining about my situation and how I was dealt a bad hand and screwed over but make no effort to improve.

I said it in another thread a while back, but it doesn't matter if you're 20, 30, 40, or older; you can always improve your station and it starts with the right attitude.

Blind obedience is the attitude they want. Never question, or offer suggestions on how it could be done smarter or better. You are just a worker drone, and the sooner you realize it, the better off you'll be. Actually, if you're that bright, why are you at Ground in the first place?

Your posts state otherwise.

In other words you have no special skillset either! I am "cross-trained in all aspects of our station operations" as well. From doing CSA's job, to working our front counter, to "Saturday manager", was once Dangerous Goods and International Specialist, until I saw the direction this dump was going. About 7-8yrs ago I let the DG and International Specialist expire because it is one more thing this company wants you responsible for but doesn't want to pay you for it.

I also have my own side business. No, it does not make me millions, but it does supplement my income. Not all of us here are equal to fast food workers like you compared in another post.
Bitter? Yes, and rightfully so. A lot of us helped create and get this company where it once was a great place to work only to be pooped on by upper management time and time again.

Unfortunately, you cannot understand or comprehend our frustration.

Sad but true. If I wasn't lucky enough to be on my wife's insurance with her job I would need four jobs just to pay for the steaming turd they offer called insurance!

You haven't been trained in ALL station operations. I'm sure you know your way around your building and probably have some AS400 knowledge, but there are things that you haven't been trained on. That would be true in any company. You don't need to know certain things.

Not intending to offend here. Just pointing out the exaggeration.

...so, your going to reinvent the wheel??? Engineering marvel! Your 35 and under for sure..probably 10-12 years with the company. Most mngmt types give up after 35 years old knowing that they dont have a chance in hell of sniffing Freds stock options.
