This always happens in my facility. Already skeleton crew, wouldn't hurt the Multi billion dollar company to budget an extra 20 hours for a couple of backup people.

wide load

Starting wage is a waste of time.
This new supervisor is sorting packages and is sending me home early. She is not a member of the union. She is a part time supervisor.

Should she be even touching any packages? She sends me home at exactly 3 hours and is still lifting and putting oversize irregulars into the trailers - a job i think i should be doing.

Should I file a grievance? How will this play out? Yes- I am a UNION MEMBER. What will happen to the supervisor? Will I receive back pay for the hours I lost for her sorting packages and reducing hours by her sorting and handling of oversize irregulars ?
With only reading the title, the answer is YES!
"Supervisor (any forward progression of a package)" File!!

Anyone else want to work but being sent home?

Let the supervisor know you and others want to stay and finish the work, otherwise you'll file. Give them a chance to correct action on their own.
