Supreme Court

Old Man Jingles

Rat out of a cage
So predictable...

You say you were raped?

What were you wearing?

Why were you at the party?

Etc.

Evidently the latest accuser is a government employee with a security clearance...she’s willing to risk her job by signing a sworn affidavit.

Vast left-wing conspiracy!

Lulz

Let's see where she winds up after this smear campaign proves fruitless.
She'll get a new job working for a Dim and probably double her salary.

Was a time , was a place , and there were some people who were at one time held accountable to be as honorable as the offices they filled.
Wasn't there a time?
Many historians point to Henry Clay, who died in 1852, was the last Statesman in the US Government.

So "Yes", maybe there was a time, but the statute of limitations kicks in.

In a sworn affidavit, Swetnick — a Washington, D.C. resident — said she was a “victim of one of these ‘gang’ or ‘train’ rapes where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present” at a party in Washington D.C., in approximately 1982.

Nothing you posted on Kava accusers has held any water ... or wine, or spiked fruit punch.
Better luck in 2020!

I’m not sure...

In this day and age if the Dims were paying or coaching or steering these accusers, it’s not clear to me that that could be kept secret.

Meaning, who knows what the truth is, but I just don’t find it credible that the Dims are actively behind this.

That makes no sense...it would be discovered, and there’d be a lot of ‘splaining to do!

and a wacko who filed a sexual harassment charge against her employer using number ones law firm and best of all she had a restraining order filed against her by a previous boyfriend.

I have not heard anyone accuse the allegers of being dressed inappropriately and yes their credibility does matter.

Come on, it only has to ‘take’ once.

I read a piece with a credible argument:

It’s irrelevant whether the accusations are true, this is snowballing...

If it really is a ‘fake-news-smear-campaign’, then the fakers will just keep faking until it becomes untenable for Kavanaugh to remain in contention: his reputation will be in question forever: at some point he’ll draw the line and remove himself from the process.

If, on the other hand, the accusations are correct, there will be a fourth/fifth/sixth accuser, or relevant witnesses will come forth, etc.

Either way, it’s in Trump and Mumbles’ interest to keep ramming this through, midterm ramifications be damned.

But what’s the point, personally, for Kavanaugh, where he decides “I’m out”...his personal situation doesn’t align with Trump or Mumbles. Being on the SC is the brass ring, but not if there’s an implied asterix.

This entire situation could be a semester course on game theory.

you should sleep well since your blindness ensures you will not be disturbed.

LOL, I'm blind?

Neither one of us has any idea whether or not these accusations are truthful, but you go straight for 'blame-the-victim'.

Admit it, if it came out that Kavanaugh did everything he was accused of, you would still be OK for him to be on the SC.

Just say it, you don't care one way or another.

It's easier for you to call the accusers liars, or that this is a VAST LEFT-WING CONSPIRACY.

Look, :censored2:'s getting tribal, but please don't pretend you're not getting tribal.

Hey Newfie, your integrity is on the line, answer me this:

If Kavanaugh actually is guilty of these transgressions, are you still OK with him being confirmed?

this :censored2: is so contrived and so full of holes that only a snowflake would possibly believe any of it.

you libs will have a lot of apologizing to do when this nonsense is done.

Rarely has society’s tendency to sympathize with powerful men been so thoroughly on display...

"Brett Kavanaugh is a “great gentleman,” President Trump said at a White House news conference last week. “I feel so badly for him. This is not a man who deserves this.” At no point on that occasion did Mr. Trump say the name of the woman, Christine Blasey Ford, who had accused Judge Kavanaugh of sexual assault. After further allegations about Judge Kavanaugh’s behavior were reported on Sunday night, Mr. Trump doubled down: What was going on was “most unfair” to Judge Kavanaugh, who is “an outstanding person.”

When it comes to the moral deficiencies exhibited by Mr. Trump and other supporters of the judge, many critics speak about lack of empathy as the problem. It isn’t. Mr. Trump, as he has shown clearly in the Kavanaugh confirmation process, seems to have no difficulty taking another person’s perspective, and then feeling and expressing a sympathetic or congruent moral emotion.

The real problem is that the people Mr. Trump feels with and for are most frequently powerful men who have been credibly accused of serious crimes and wrongdoing. He felt sorry for Michael Flynn, referring to him as a “good guy.” More recently, he felt bad for Paul Manafort. And, in the case of Judge Kavanaugh, Mr. Trump feels sorry for a man accused of sexual assault while erasing and dismissing the perspective of his female accusers...

Why revisiting the political scandals of the 1990s should temper partisanship today...

...'If you are a partisan, an activist, a politics obsessive, any certainty you feel about Brett Kavanaugh right now is probably too strong. And any mystification or bafflement or anger that you feel about someone else’s certainty — how it simply must be cynical, manufactured, malign — should be tempered by a recognition that your own certainty might have to be revised 20 years from now, that how you read the evidence in the heat of a polarized moment might not be the only way to read it, and that not every historical controversy or scandal gets settled cleanly or wrapped up in a neat moralistic bow...'
