TCD or Casual

How's the view from the cheap seats?

Dave was a casual, worked his butt off and secured a FT job in 11 months.

I would not have stayed had I not been FT within a year.

Ooh, I struck a nerve.

If it really matters, I was hired during a period of expansion as a full-time driver from day one and made full rate in 30 days.

Didn't really even have to work my butt off.;)

Ok, I still am unsure of the difference. I am currently a casual and they are telling me that they will make me a TCD making it sound like it's in my best interest. Someone please break it down for me. Thank you.

Thank you Silenze,
I've only been on the job for a week, learned the training route and am now being told as a TCD I have two weeks to learn the new route. If not, I'm gone. Make any sense?

So, basically you don't have seniority and no protection at all. Do the best you can and cross your fingers.
