Lol sure, people hate that those terrible light bulbs were phased out and that new light bulbs last much longer. There are certain light bulbs in my house I have not had to change in years. That was unheard of for residential houses where I grew up. there is no active anger at the fact certain light bulbs were phased out because overall light bulbs are better now. If the state legislatures controlled by your party believed that it was necessary to do so they would have done so. Problem was, they were dead certain that they had the election already won. Here's the problem with voter photo ID which is the most accepted form of ID. What if a person doesn't drive? What are you going to do about the Amish, Old Order Mennonites and others who for religious and other legitimate reasons refuse to allow themselves to be photographed? Religious and other civil rights issues make your simplistic solutions completely unusable .

I don't know if the instill fear thing is true. I think gop voters do see millions of other Americans as a huge threat. But I am telling you this fear thing and seeing other Americans as a threat is a thing that goes beyond the gop. So, I don't know if that fear comes from gop political messaging. I mean the gop is taping into a preexisting belief system within the American body politic.

For an example, I remember when Obama was president and they were phasing out certain types of light bulbs because they were crap basically. I remember the anger and outrage from coworkers who were conservative in their outlook but not all were republicans at how light bulbs were changing, and now in part due to government regulations light bulbs last much longer and are better and no one says anything about how radical it was Obama wanted to change light bulbs. Yet at the time it was a real outrage amongst Americans mainly the gop. this is that fear mindset where many Americans go from outrage after outrage to minor changes and I think this outrage is evidence of this deeper preexisting fear in America.

You don't get it. Old Order Mennonites and Amish because of religious beliefs refuse to be photographed. It has something to do with a perceived loss of the spiritual souls. Requiring a photo ID in order to vote would disenfranchise a significant number of qualified voters.

LED lightbulbs (they are actually called lamps ) are getting cheaper. The efficacy or lumens per watt is better than any light source. The average life is rated 10 to 50,000 hours . Get rid of the CFL they need to warm up as LED's are instant on at full illumination. Also you can buy the lamps in 27K which is a warmer light simulating incandescent to 40 or 50K which is a much cooler whiter light. Changing over to LED can say you a lot of energy cost on your electric bill .A 10W LED lamp has the same lumens as a 60W incandescent with over 10 times the average life . When purchasing you should try to buy name brands like GE, Sylvania, Philips, Cree, Fite, etc .The off or Chinese brands are no good. I am ranting sorry.......

That is true you need to get lamps rated for enclosed fixtures. LED's are sensitive to heat and enclosures with little to no circulation, Conversely they love the cold and work well in unheated spaces. Your typical residential fixture table lamps, recessed lighting, chandeliers should all accommodate standard LED lamps.

The whole saving energy premise is flawed anyway. Power stations have to run 27/7. Demand is less at night anyway.

The problem in states like California is not enough power producing stations to meet growing need. No light bulb will ever solve that.

The more you dim the warm glo lamps the softer or warmer in color the light gets.
