The New Green Deal and Jobs

I'm in Bogota, Colombia right now. The U.S. economy drives the world economy. If we collapse it'll cause serious harm. The question really is why don't you care?
Better move over and make room for the Venezuelans coming your way. Besides if you can't make it here in the US by now chances are you never will.

What's fake?
A non binding resolution proposed by a freshman congresswoman that hardly anyone takes seriously.

Yet if you watch Fox news we are on the brink of economic collapse because of the impending socialism.

Part of the platform is to replace aviation. If that happens, or taxes are applied to curtail it, jobs are effected.
I'm not sure why you think transitioning to high speed rail would kill jobs. Lots of jobs either way.

fake news, yet that’s what they want?

a low likelihood doesn’t make it “fake”

High speed rail is fine. Let investors build it.

I'm sorry you are struggling in retirement. Or can you retire yet? I'll write this again. Recently did a cost comparison between the cities of Armenia, Colombia and Overland Park, KS on the website Numbeo. My $1840 pension in Armenia is the equivalent of $5300 a month in take home pay in Overland Park. And that will afford me a lifestyle I could never hope to have in the U.S. on my pension. With my retiree airline discount I flew to Bogota from Orlando for $104. And found a nice restaurant down the street that serves an excellent daily special for 8000 Pesos. That's about $2.56. Going in March to Colombia's adventure capital, San Gil. I'm not a fan of huge cities and Bogota is over 10 million. But the people here are very nice for such a big city, but I prefer to walk everywhere and San Gil at 43,000 is more my speed. And because of tourism has a lot of choice in restaurants and is surrounded by beautiful nature and very pretty small towns. Yeah, I've got it bad. Don't come here, you'll hate not having to suffer.

We'll be taxed to death to pay for everything. That will kill the economy.
You want services you've got to be willing to pay for them and that's the mark of today's so called "conservative". They're simply the people who want all the the public services everyone else uses but want them for free while somebody else has to pick up the tab. And when not if but when you come back to the states you'll expect those services to still be here ready to serve you at little or no cost.

This is way beyond "services." Estimated cost $49 Trillion. They'll have us all working for the government and very little will go towards job creation in the private sector. We got a taste of this with all the regulations Obama put on business that stifled the economy. This makes Obama look like a wild eyed capitalist.

Nice side step. While the New Green Deal will not in it's present form given that it's simply a resolution be the sole direction this nation takes it will drive the policy debate as the Millennial's and the Gen Z's settle into leadership roles as part of the natural generational passing of leadership and the new problems the new generation will be charged with solving.

FFS you're so full of crap.
You're married, with a wife in the US.

It doesn't matter what kind of BS math you do, the expenses of two households is not cheaper than one.

I'm living on less than $600 a month down here, and that includes about $200 a month helping my parents and paying on a credit card. Living expenses for two households in the States is way too much, but not a problem here. Living here I'm paying about $630 a month at home and still saving over $500 a month. Money goes up in smoke too quickly in the U.S.. And my wife is putting our house up for sale and joining me. We'll pay off the bills with our equity and get set up nicely here with new furniture.

Wtf are you talking about?
If you lived with the person you married you wouldn't have the expenses of two households.

Man up, go home, and live with your wife.

You just tried to give someone a hard time about "struggling in retirement". Meanwhile you abandoned your family to go play in third world countries.

Or, as they mature and wise up they'll squash the NGD.
