Seriously? How many cabinet secretaries have resigned for corruption scandals? How much money is Trump making in self-dealing by staying at his own properties and charging the tax payer for security? How much is he making from foreign dignitaries staying at his properties in order to gain influence?

Uranuim One was disproven, as were the accusations regarding the Clinton Foundation. The Trump Foundation was dissolved because it was fake, and a slush fund for Trump. He was also fined, and the Foundation remains under investigation by the SDNY.

Honestly, aside from the rise of the Trumpaloompa, this is the sort of nonsense that gives 'journalists' a bad name.
There is a profession called 'journalism' which has specific rules and mores and ethics.
Assange isn't a 'journalist'.
You can't have it both ways.
If you're going to call everyone else 'fake news' and call Assange the 'real deal', than you're misunderstanding the role of the press.
Think about this:
.why didn't Wikileaks release incriminating leaks about the Trump campaign?
.why didn't/doesn't Wikileaks release 'document dumps' stolen from the Russian govmnt?
It's quite likely that Assange is a Russian asset, and Wikileaks is a front for Russian intelligence misinformation campaigns.

I'm hoping he has dirt on the Republicans, who will quickly change their tune. Remember, he was a hero when he tarnished Hillary, and Trump loved Wikileaks, which he now knows nothing about now...sure. Here's to hoping Assange has Trump sexting a 13 year old or something equally vile.
the thing that gives journalism a bad name are the ones who do propaganda with the people theyre supposed to be investigating (govts and corporations), and taking lots of corp ad revenue.
journalists by not defending assange are shooting themselves in the foot. nothing has changed in assanges case: its the administration which has changed.

Do we really want to keep hoping for "dirt on the Republicans" rather than stepping back and taking a breather for a moment? I'm still all the way back at the point of being glad our President isn't a Russian agent.
Journalists actually have a huge interest in not defending Assange because they want to be taken seriously as professionals. That's why the NYT doesn't just dump classified documents whose release could really hurt people whenever they come across them.

Trump is such an ignorant, self-serving, destroyer of all that is good and right about this country, that anything that works against his campaign to eliminate our democracy is OK by me.
BTW, it was just revealed he was pushing to send illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities in order to attack his political foes. What a class act.
The usual suspects here will cheer for him on that, but he is destroying this country, and essentially creating a false narrative that further divides us. Where there was once reason and common ground, there is now hate and lies...from both sides. Trump is pouring gas on that fire and wants to build a pipeline of direct lies and his very fake news so he can fuel it even more.
He is scum of the worst kind. Anything bad that happens to him is fine with me because he is evil to the core.

Help me understand how this isn't sort of like when Mitch McConnell called for a vote on AOC's Green New Deal and was heavily criticized by Democrats as a kind of bad actor for it.
Democrats argue that illegal immigrants are good for the Country and do not commit crimes at a higher rate than the general US population. But if illegal immigrants are dropped off into solid blue communities that generally embrace them, it's a terrible thing?
What was disproved about Uranium One? Did their foundation not receive over $100 million from Russian interests? Did Bill not speak in Moscow for a very large fee at the same time? And the Clinton Foundation has yet to be investigated. And you're not even touching the emails. Huge violations of laws designed to protect national security. I really hope Barr does ultimately indict her if for no other reason than to shove it down your throat.
