That’s not the point. Our system is blood money
At what point is it no longer blood money? Millions came to this country after slavery ended and built a life through hard work that they couldn't have elsewhere. Have you ever seen the neat packages of meat and cheese from a company called Swiss Colony? Do you know why they're called that? In the late 1800's Switzerland was poor. Had a lot of poverty. A lot of Swiss left and formed little "colonies" in other countries. Switzerland eventually turned into an extremely wealthy country by implementing capitalism. Eastern Europe is pulling itself out of decades of communism with capitalism. China was failing until it allowed capitalism. It works and you just have to accept that some will do better than others primarily because they have more ambition. Those with less still are provided jobs and the freedom to improve their circumstances. The idea of everyone having the same and is justice just leads to most having little.

imagine if you didnt have SS lol

lots of things eat away at your purchasing power, which btw they dont account for bc if they did they would have to raise SS like healthcare, housing, etc

i forgot much of what i heard about coming off the gold standard, but it was a big deal
Imagine if they had invested Social Security into better investment vehicles instead of government bonds. SS wouldn't be in trouble today. You blithely laugh at things you don't understand.

China would've collapsed if they didn't allow capitalism. Hundreds of millions pulled out of.poverty from capitalism. You would rather have them in poverty than have company owners do really well.

Look I’m not against hard work, I respect somebody that’s able to build themselves. The early stages of capitalism are good, but what we’re seeing now is the late stage. You got certain states with houses damn near a million lol. What 20 year old or even 30 can afford that?

actually china is the main reason poverty has dropped in the world, which tells me its not bc of capitalism which is an oversimplification anyways, what theyre doing is much more complex than that.

The fake idea that there’s an account somewhere with your name on it it’s comical.

If all the money I paid in Social Security was mine in an account I could not touch Nor could the government I would be quite wealthy.

Instead of having an account with my name on it, and money in it there’s a bunch of IOUs which may or may not be paid.

The complex nature of Social Security is hilarious, so much paperwork to fill out and hoops to jump through its clear they want you to make a mistake and give you as little as possible.

Another example of government over complicating a simple idea. Of course they do that for a reason.

the US has wealth because the govt made the cost of labor very cheap by making things public, by having protective tariffs, and also because you are awash in resources. i forget what else. US not only country to do this, i know germany did it too

regarding hte first point, you dont do this as much and now practice a form of junk economics which you used to export to keep other countries poor

regarding italian coops we do know how well theyre doing because its measured and so obviously when you take out the capitalist middle man and turn workers into owners, theyre going to have better economic performance.

btw, regarding your quote "taking from those who produce and redistribute it" what do you think capitalism is? exactly that and a system of poor distribution
Capitalism is efficient. Take a look at the choices we have in supermarkets then go overseas to developing nations and look at how they distribute food. You constantly claim we aren't efficient but the incentive to make a profit drives people to get things to market on time at a cost that keeps them in line with competitors. Everywhere that government control of the process is tried it tears that efficiency apart. People like you literally have to tear everything apart and be pulled away kicking and screaming when most people say they've had enough. Which is exactly what happened in Eastern Europe. We've already had a vey clear demonstration of how badly Marxism works but people who are literally screwed in the head keep thinking they'll get it right. Stupid.

They can’t even afford rent. Some spots that go for 5k. It’s normal now see 20 year olds and even some 30 with their parents still.
my dad was a power engineer and he bought a house as his first purchase. no one can do that these days. his house was 130,000, and his income wouldve been 32000 i think. so he wouldve paid 4x his income for a house which wouldve been 30 minutes from dt vancouver, which was a big city back then.

if he did the same thing nowadays, it would be 15x his income.

he could move to middle of nowhere frequent murder capital of canada thunder bay and he would pay 3.1x his income for a condo.

so this economist michael hudson said the major reason for housing prices rising is simply banks lending more money. and when you look at ridiculous stats like what i just listed off it makes sense and u realize the system is based on economic garbage.

markets dont factor in true costs. which is why we have so much pollution and are on the verge of system collapse. for example a part on an old car breaks, and instead of fixing it, you buy a whole new car. its insane. phones could be upgradable; theyd be 2x the size if this were true, but we have a throw away culture. in addition many stuff is not used 99% of the time.

btw, europe has laws stating workers get 5 weeks paid vacation. america has a market. which one is better?

That’s the point people are missing it was achievable back then. The housing market is a complete Joke now

China's financial and real estate markets are collapsing because they didn't/don't understand market fundamentals. And amazingly the American Left still supports China while attacking American conservatives. We aren't the ones locking down whole cities where people can't even leave their homes. We aren't putting people into concentration camps. We aren't attacking religious minorities. We aren't using slave labor. We aren't the ones with an extremely polluted environment. Yet you still think China is great.

yea im not too familiar with SS other than the fact it has a maximum tax on it which if they lifted would make it solvent until 2075 or so, and it was invented during the great depression.
