The first part true. Exactly what I said taxed more. The second part partially true. The extra money might push you into the bottom of the next tax bracket .
Withheld at a higher rate. Not taxed at a higher rate.
When bumped into a higher bracket, only the income over the lower bracket limits gets taxed at the higher rate. They don't go back and tax all income at the higher rate.

So explain to me why. When ups cuts a green check. Why is it taxed different then a regular check?
Withholding tables assume you are getting the higher income every pay period instead of just that one week.
If you want to be anal about withholding you can always change your W4 exemptions on the weeks you get a large bump in pay.

Look at last week's check. Divide all taxes taken out by the gross pay. Times it by 100. I bet that percentage will be higher then the paycheck you got the week before that..

I don't get paychecks anymore.
Was forced to take an RMD of $60,000 out of an inherited 403b this year and will be bumped into a higher tax bracket as a result, but not all that extra income will be taxed at the higher rate.

Forgot you were retired.. anyways anyone in here that thinks that working day after thanksgiving is taxed the same. All you have to do is compare weeks.

None of that matters. I'm talking about what they take out of your check.
