I'm not arguing that illegal immigrants haven't broken the law.

But it's a stretch to go from there to 'rapists and murderers'.

I didn't come away with that same feeling. It will have that same effect which one may then assume the flow becomes regulated (some immigrants get in) so Trump is creating another regulatory outlet of the Federal govt while it's still unclear how the total costs are paid for. On a certain level this wall produces the effect of denying to potential parties from an economic contract they might otherwise enter without the wall. Thus a free market violation and intervention.
