Union failure

The new contract has already showed it was a terrible deal. The hub I’m in is looking for help. Has been for a month or more. The current workers are working twice as hard to make up for understaffing issues. UPS gets to work employees twice as hard and actually save money. Not to mention, they can’t find any help, $13.00 an hour at 3:30 am is peanuts in today’s world. College and HS kids don’t care about bennies, they’re on their parents. The union should be disbanded. The sooner the better. Any idiot could have negotiated $13.00 an hour.

Why are they working twice as hard? If they are working faster than normal then those union guys are the problem. Work at your regular pace and let the system fail . If the system doesn't fail and employees keep making it up by working faster than normal or taking short cuts then nothing will ever change .

Agree, let the system fail. UPS could pay more if they wanted too, wages are minimums..

Other companies don’t even have negotiations. They keep wages as low as possible until turnaround gets too high or constantly understaffed.

Welcome to capitalism

Maybe because some of us are conscientious and actually believing in getting the job done?
What is it about union guys and glorifying being a lazy P.o.S.

If you were really conscientious, you’d realize you’re working harder for less pay comparatively to your peers.

Now look in the mirror on Friday with your paycheck in hand and ask yourself, who’s the chump?

you dont disband a union and replace it with nothing :S

and yes, ive worked a few jobs where being unionized is not good enough. too much injustice. points to deeper problems and questions about capitalism.

UPS needs to be a co-op! At least that's what chomsky told me at the mall tonight while we were buying Nikes.
