I only want the useless UN to be kicked out of our country and go establish somewhere else. America needs to quit the club, stop the funding and quit trying to take care of the rest of the world.

During times like we are having now ( no jobs, high gas prices, unsecure borders, etc)..........take care of America first.

WOAH! Is that you moreluck?! Finally we can agree on one thing. :D

[h=2]UN Demands American Troops Be Punished For Koran Burning…[/h]

Dear UN, eff off.

(Reuters) – The United Nations joined Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Thursday in calling on the U.S. military to take disciplinary action against those who burned copies of the Koran at a NATO air base, calling the incident a “grave mistake”.

Despite an apology from U.S. President Barack Obama, the burning of the Muslim holy book at the Bagram base north of the capital ignited a wave of anti-Western fury across the country.

At least 30 people were killed in protests, including two American soldiers who were killed by an Afghan soldier who joined the demonstrations.
“After the first step of a profound apology, there must be a second step … of disciplinary action,” Jan Kubis, special representative for the U.N. secretary-general in Afghanistan, told a news conference.

“Only after this, after such a disciplinary action, can the international forces say ‘yes, we’re sincere in our apology’,” added Kubis, without elaborating on what action should be taken.

Obama, in a letter of apology to Karzai last week, said the burning of copies of the Koran had been “inadvertent” and an “error”.

They should be punished, from the bottom up.. Whoever gave that order should be dismissed and the rank and file below that person disciplined as BUSH did to the soldiers involved in using the Koran as target practice.

There should be no difference. This international embarrassment by our military should not go unpunished. It sends the wrong message to the world.

Peace.

I also agree with both of you about the UN.

Toronto sounds like a good place for the UN.
We could use the extra money all those diplomats spend, and more housing for them, too.
Expand the airport a little.
Gives us more secretary and administration jobs, building operators/maintanance workers and much more.
Win, win situation.

We can have UPS Freight assist with the move.

Despite US-led bid to expel Syria, UNESCO voted 35-8 for watered-down resolution, allowing Syria
to stay on human rights panel.

GENEVA, March 8 – The UN’s education, science and culture organization has just voted 35 to 8 for a resolution
that condemns Assad for abuses, yet — despite vigorous efforts led by the U.S. — keeps the regime
on its human rights committee.

Conservative MP Larry Miller’s suggestion that Canada consider leaving the UN isn’t all that crazy

The Tory backbencher from Ontario is demanding Canada reconsider its membership in the United Nations after the world body criticized the government for its treatment of alleged war criminals, for its food security and for changes to the refugee system.
"The United Nations is an organization that was designed to work collectively to solve the major problems facing the world," Miller said in a statement.

The British government has recently decided to de-fund four United Nations' agencies and put three others on notice that they could face the same fate unless they improve their performance.

The United States is also taking a critical look at UN funding as part of its overall budget austerity plan with some Republicans calling for a complete withdrawal.
Maybe it's time we in Canada, join our allies and review our involvement with the international body.

Just look at some of the ridiculous and mind-blowing decisions recently made by the UN: read more

Now we’re talking!
Via HuffPo:
Florida GOP Senate candidate Connie Mack had harsh words for the United Nations while on the campaign trail on Tuesday.

Mack, who is running to unseat Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson, stressed his conviction that the U.N. should be defunded and “kicked off of American soil,”according to The Tampa Tribune.

Mack made the remarks while making an appearance alongside Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz). It’s also not the first time the Senate candidate has leveled strong criticism against the United Nations.

Addressing the issue in a statement released earlier this week, Mack said, “The UN’s actions and intentions toward the United States have been nothing short of reprehensible.”

That would be great but i doubt it would happen. Im not sure who is more corrupt...the UN or our own goverment.

"Rice’s diplomatic failures and silence in the face of outrageous UN antics have given the United States pathetic representation among the 193 members of the world body. UN members, not surprisingly, prefer a weak opponent. Rice is therefore popular with her colleagues. It may explain why she ignored Syria’s growing problems for months. "

It is the most useless body anymore.
To me, it once had a purpose and unity towards the right thing, but quickly went downhill.
Remember the Soviet leader beating his shoe?
Then years later they let the madman from Iran speak.
