UPS sent me a letter to pay off overpayment dues.

I'll bet it is not UPS that is sending you the letter, but the local union is because you quit but did not send the union a withdrawal letter.

I had my room mate store the letter for reference... It just says I've been overpaid for the days I've worked and to send a check for the amount mentioned above. Even if I was to send it in, they wouldn't get it in time.

Ask them to show you records of them overpaying you. Just cuz they say it don't mean crap..
