I do not think you do either! You, (and 99.9% of stock owners) are not "buying a part of a company," or "ownership of a company." You are buying "something" that you think someone else (at a later date) will pay more for than what you paid! Please take a moment to think about what I just said!

But the only way anyone pays more for it is if that company has success....so yeah you selling for higher depends on how the company does.

Don’t try to time the market, not with a 5% discount and generous dividend.

Different story if you’re close to retirement.
