UPS to freeze pension plans for nonunion staffers

Believe it or not, at one time many many years ago. UPS was a finely tune machine. Well oiled and all! Nothing like it is now. I may be talking about before you were born.

No... sadly, I'm not that young. I remember. I didn't work here then, but had plenty of friends who did. Unfortunately, I was forced into a position, after the recession, where I needed to come here to ensure I could provide health insurance for my family. I walked in expecting the finely tuned machine I had heard so much about, but instead found bedlam.

Three cheers for corporate greed, I guess.

Nice attempt at a dig, but, I will be getting pension contributions for as long as I plan to keep working.
You guys should be royally po'ed....and the knife goes in even further if you knew the amount of bonuses the higher ups get as part of their pay package....

Freezing management pensions at this key strategic time, as we are close to going into contract negotiations is classic UPS. Make the operations underlings hate us more!!!!!!!!!!!

I always said you were in management.
For some reason as a long time steward, I've been able to put myself into their shoes and see their perspectives. This helps me dominate low level operations management. I think you can relate to what I'm about to tell you. "Only a low percentage of the ups population has actual ups smarts".

Going on 30 years. Thought I would be working many more but now thinking I should get out before next contract! BTW, why does the pension estimator on Upser`s still show a pension of $4700 and $5600 if working longer when it appears to max out at $3400 no matter on how long you work.....?
