OSU can beat them if the defense shows up but even if they do all of the SEC trolls will jump in whining "well they didn't beat an SEC team". SEC is definitely down this year and OSU would beat Auburn or Alabama. Missouri is better than those two and would be a good game but Mizzou isn't a "real" SEC team.
Not that I really care (neither SEC or Big 10 fan), but everything I have seen as far as common opponents outside their conference, the Big 10 is the weakest in the last 50 years and SEC is about on PAR.
The PAC-12 has done well outside their conference as well.
I saw something today on bowls and conferences and it jogged my memory about our discussion:
The SEC wound up with 7 teams in the final Top 25 and 8-3 in the bowls.
The PAC wound up with 6 teams in the final Top 25 and 6-3 in the bowls
Then the rest of the conferences with 3 in the Top 25 -
ACC, and 4-5 in bowls.
Big 12 and 3-3 in bowls.
Big 10, and 2-5 in bowls.
The American Conference did pretty well with CFL and Louisville in Top 25 and 2-0 in bowls.
