What should I Do?

Good Post Dill, except I think I would reverse the order on part of your advice.
If it continues go to the center manager with a union rep and let them know you don't appreciate the comments. THEN the next time a comment was made I would ask this pervert to please stop the comments and that you're not interested.
I might even inform the perv that I had already talked to my Manager. This way you are already on the books as having reported the incidents and if the customer calls in accusing you of starting trouble, you should be covered.

I agree,go to center manager first or you might have trouble with a complaint when you talk to the customer.

I think some of you are making way too big a deal out of this.

Remember, you still have to work on that route. Word WILL get out to other customers about how you narced on the guy who was just being friendly. Think about how you handle this.

I for one would NOT trust the management team to help. Without a doubt it will get all turned around so that YOU (homophobe) were the instigator, not that poor picked on customer.

I agree that you are making too much of it too. Is it any different than some woman hitting on you , whether you are married or not, and you're not interested? I reiterate what I said in the earlier post that you should document it with management and your union rep. Don't just trust management because they will throw you to the wolves if a complaint is ever made. I know guys that weren't interested in women and they later accused them of harassment when they didn't hook up with them. Other than that, just do the job and ignore his comments.

Had a gay guy that used to hit on me at a florist shop I delivered to. One time he gave me flowers. Later that day I gave them to a young lady I was interested in. Just grin and bear it (not BARE it).

I have a florist who is like this with. I jokingly flirt back since he know I am 110% not gay or into that at all. I tell him gay jokes all the time and everything. Why be uptight about it and make it uncomfortable. Even when I had my helper with me I would tell the florist that I had some fresh meat for him.
Dont say anything. You never know who is listening.I know of a similiar situation where a driver said something like this to a gay customer.A fellow worker within the store heard the comments and wrote a complaint to corporate. You cant believe how fast they sent a guy from corporate down to investigate. They wanted him fired.Ended up with 2 weeks suspension. My advice would be to tell you manager that you are being harassed and then go to the local police station and file a harassment complaint. The police will go and tell the hair stylist that a complaint has been taken out on him and im sure he wont say another word to you again.(I know from experience.Had a similar problem with a crazy female customer and this is what I had to do.Didnt have any problems after I filed the complaint)

Your next step is to tell the person that his comments are making you uncomfortable and you want him to stop! ....and make sure you visit the manager with your steward to let him know what has been going on. CYA

A comment about the bulge in your shorts goes way beyond "friendly".
Don't believe for an instant that UP$ would allow a man to make comments like this to a female driver.
I wouldn't expect the management team to help either, the only reason to report it to them (with union rep present) is to CYA from a complaint from the turned down lover-wannabe. and trust me, I am far from being homophobic. I just don't believe that making these kind of comments are appropriate coming from anyone to anyone.

Sorry Trplnkl. I wasn't suggesting you (or anyone) are a homophobe, I was suggesting how management would treat you.
The "bulge" comments are over the edge.

Gimme a friend'n break. Go to the police? Like the police have nothing better to worry about than a overzealous hairstylist making comments. Just smile, deliver your packages and go on with your day. If the guy is just making comments, get some thicker skin. Now if he touches you, then I'd say you have grounds to seek further action such as a DIAD IV to the temple.

It seems that you havent ever been in a situation like this.If you had been you would see that your remedies to the problem would only get you escorted off of UPS property permanently. The original post asked for advice with the problem he was having.DIAD IV to the head isnt really going to help him solve his problem. As I had stated I was in a situation similar to this except with a female customer.Once the police spoke to her I never had another problem with her.

Radone, your avatar states that your goal is to someday be a driver. Let someone with 19 yrs experience as a driver give you a little advice--LOSE THE STUPID COMMENTS!! I can just imagine you explaining to your center manager why you made the above statement to the hair stylist and then watching as you clean out your locker on your way to apply at McDonald's.

I noticed that you are fairly new to BC. This is a forum for thoughtful, intelligent discussion of topics common to all UPS employees. Discussion can be spirited and may touch a nerve but you will find that posters respect one another and the topic that is being discussed. Your infantile response added nothing to the discussion and made it quite obvious that you have absolutely no idea what an experienced driver would do in a situation such as this. Grow up!!

Yeah, that isn't an overreaction at allllllll. Jesus, grow some thicker skin. Much worse can be said by customers and no witty reply is needed - laugh it off. Pasaholic, don't be such a homophobe. If you aren't gay clearly nothing is going to come of his comments, so who cares? Do you guys refuse to take a dump in a public restroom for fear of getting AIDS too?

It's amazing how you have to walk on eggshells around people with different sexual orientation and religion, but some think it is OK to talk to others in a way that would offend them. Just ignore the idiot and he will get the message and find someone who will respond to his uncalled for behavior.

You know your people better than I do but, be it a man or a woman, I would never go there with a customer. "To each his own" I guess. I feel bad for your helper.

This is something I put up with daily on my route. Every time I see my customer working outside (wife inside) he will put one hand in the air, other on his hip and then do the grind in front of me. This perv of a customer actually did this in front of my sup and nothing was said. But, with all that said this customer has crossed the line with me. I was inside making his pick-up bent over to grab the box and my :censored2: got smacked. W T friend-I was so pissed off so now I just refuse to go around him anymore or I make sure one of the other workers are around. The man has a problem. So what do I do? Piss off the customer that I have to deal with everyday (nobody else in the area to make pickup) because I turned him in. I dont think so. He could really make my life a living hell if he wanted. So yes I have some thick skin but, he leaves me alone now after a few words were spoken.

I had one of my female customers shove 2 walnuts and a bannana in my pants pocket while I was struggling with an arm load of packages. :happy2: She was a character. I still laugh when I think about that.
