The first two are senseless tragedies. The third could have been avoided had the father read and obeyed the "restricted area" signs.

The signs said no swimming. They didn't warn about the gators. One thing Floridians know is that "every puddle has a gator". No way someone from Nebraska would know that.

I've seen signs to watch your pets near the waters edge before...but this is just unthinkable, still can't believe it.

Been there twice. Started each trip with two kids. Stayed out of restricted areas. Brought both kids home safely.

every person (even landlubbers) know gators are plentiful in all waters of the south....With so many wild life shows on TV, even kids know this.
If this family had a poodle on a leash, it would've been taken .
No one should've been standing in the water.......it's tragic, but also preventable.
