Also I want to thank you guys for being here for taking for helping. Despite the gripes and the ills with the world the one thing beyond everything else I have enjoyed about working for this company is that their are good people who work here and that do care about one another do care about the job like any job and work place not everything is right not everyone upholds the company “credo” but hey that’s life but you all being here being a venue to voice and talk about problems and work things out amongst peers rather than snitching or olccs is a blessing. We’ve got a big new world heading for us so let’s all stand together to do our job but also remember it’s all of us out there the rain snow heat dead of night all of it and all the others that gives us the tools and the work to do so. I don’t always agree with everything but I have never worked any where else where I’ve felt like I’ve had a place in this world and we are all in it together! So I thank you because while certain aspects are a failure due to legal this and blah blah that I’m just here to get the truth the wisdom of al before me. I’m not here to be difficult I’m here to do a job but I also don’t want to back down anymore so having your advice really helps. Thanks family!
That was beautiful. Bacha is green with envy.

I knew a girl once, who talked so fast I believed she could read an entire encyclopedia aloud in one breath.

Your post reminded me of her, that's all.

Man, this guy has clearly made too many trips to the Fedex Mind Control and Reeducation Academy. Sorry to have to tell you this guys but I think he's too far gone. There's clearly no sign of any independent thinking. Whatever they washed out his brain with it did one hell of a job I mean I can try but I just don't think it's going to do any good and as long as he's free of pain I think he'd be better off if we just left him alone.

Haven't seen a case this bad since Dano and you all see what kind of shape he's in.

Operational needs

Hey guys just got back here. My question was not one of not wanting to work it was more of I wanted the overtime and they put a lower seniority person ahead of me. It was also their day off so they got the ot instead of me. I sign up for everything been there alotttt longer know so many routes and am not a swing the particular route I knew. So with peak coming up i just wanted to know what exactly does operational needs mean because I need the money do everything go above and beyond. Just hate getting sidelined because when I started years ago seniority meant something then it’s like ahhh well you haven’t been here 20 years so don’t complain. I work hard want to work do my best for the team and the company. No matter what I want to do it right so having that term thrown in my face really hurt
Since you put it THAT way.... If you want the OT you’ll have to fight for it. I had to do it in the past. They use the excuse that the other person has the area knowledge. If you pull up policy it clearly says that if someone doesn’t have area knowledge they have to be trained. Yes, seniority does matter. You’ll have to print the policy and show it to them and stand firm.

Don't you guys get it? Sure. they can create their own seniority system but who's going to make them abide by it? The answer is NOBODY! As a result this so called "seniority list" isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Wrong answer. YOU are the one who doesn’t get it. Some of us DO Make them abide by it. I also educate others on how to do the same.

Can you identify for me the governing legal authority with the power to make it binding? Are you trying to tell me that you Joe Nobody can individually make that Fortune 500 company abide by the employment terms they set forth?

I can and I have made management abide by the terms of Fedex Policy on multiple occasions. As far as the governing legal authority, I could not care less. I, as well as FedEx management, have to follow Policy.

Do you have arbitration rights? If so who chooses the people that comprise the arbitration board?

Long ago when I was a swing, my senior gave me an LWOP during the week and scheduled me to work on a Saturday. Our policy clearly states that that's not to be done. I called HR, the HR babe called the senior, and 30 minutes later I was working on the LWOP day and off on the Saturday.

Don't know about the governing legal authority, but a call to HR can usually take care of most issues when the policy is clear and the employee is in the right.

You're boxing in the wrong rink, barfa. Operational is Express, of which you have no experience or knowledge.
And 'Operational" can make policy, set policy, interpret policy, amend policy, and abolish policy while you the ordinary employee with no arbitration rights and no real access to due process can't do a damn thing except eat it and smile.

Operational can cite direct experience, of which you have none.
