pickup, first of all,you are the man.
Nextly,I read that mercury evaporates,but I can't see why.
have you ever done something stupid?
I won't agree with your first statement, nor disagree with it out of respect for you.
As for mercury evaporating, well why not? It is a liquid. Liquids eventually evaporate.
Have I ever done anything stupid? Well let's see. I started a fire in the bathroom waste basket when I was in 5th grade. Well , the fire went its course and devoured everything in the waste basket and then went out. 20 minutes later the janitor went to each class on the floor and asked the teachers if anyone went to the bathroom in the last 1/2 hour or so. Well, my teacher said I did. But apparently I wasn't a suspect. They asked if I was there alone and I said I saw one other person in there but didn't know who it was as it was an older kid , probably from the 6th grade. (the school was from kindergarten to 6th grade).
The janitor escorted me from to all four classes of the 6th grade where i stood in front of the class and looked at everyone. There was some method to the madness of which class to go to first as we started with the dumbest and moved up. Finally, I was staring at the last class and saw one of the pompous 6th graders in my sights. I was very nervous as I needed to finger someone and I had to hope that the person I wrongly fingered was worthy of being put in a bad position, one that wouldn't go after me if he figured out I fingered him(very probable) and , key point here, that he went to the bathroom within the time frame I was there (I was all alone when I set the fire).
Well, the janitor and I left the room and I said it was the one in the third seat in the second row. Looking through the window, the janitor said " the one in the red shirt?" . I replied "yes". I was escorted back to my room , thanked for my service and the pompous six grader became a suspect and as it turned out, he was in the bathroom relatively recently. I don't think anything was conclusively "proven" in regards to his actions but I managed to push any rightful latent suspicions off of me.
Never light a fire in a place that you had to get a bathroom pass to get into . Too easy to get caught( or almost caught).
