Why is management posting on here

jumpman23

Oh Yeah
The District Manager was insane.... I know of instances where DM was throwing furniture and trashcans at managers who didnt do as they were told. One center manager walked out on teh spot... BTW I would love to hear any justification for releasing a parking brake. What is it that a driver could have done to warrant that? What do I as a driver have to do for you as a manager to justify a possible rollaway? Sad thing is it was a new on road who was just promoted from driving. He had 0 backbone and was told to go after the driver by center manager... I ran a route that is impossible to run scratch on ran like 1.5 hours over allowed, my on road pulled telematics and could find no major gaps that would explain the over allowed. Was still told by DM that I had to be reprimanded... Yep totally, the drivers fault. I was once sent out in a truck that they didnt assign to a loader until 30 minutes prior to my start so he got about 50% of the work in and they threw the rest in the back told me it was my problem... While you are worried about making some utopian number to justify your own employment I and those like me are the ones out there dealing with the real world, so if I deliver my packages, and do it safely I couldnt give two left testicles about your numbers.
If I were a manager and a DM threw a trashcan at me, I GUARANTEE YOU HE WOULD GET KNOCKED OUT UNDER 3 MINUTES AND PUT TO SLEEP lol. That's just ridiculous, an individual like that deserves to get the hell beat out of them. Sometimes in life you have to get the piss beat out of you to learn the valuable lesson in life of having respect for people.

By firing the driver then deadlocking it at panel and holding the driver out of work long enough to get his house taken... Saw it happen first hand. We get fired all the time, it usually lasts about a day or two a week at most and then there are some guys that they hold out 6 months only to give the driver full back pay.
What did the driver do? Honestly. Because contrary to belief there are things people do deserve to be fired for.
Oh and just wait till you get Orion it is the STUPIDEST thing we have done to date. We now have to take a heavy traffic street instead of the interstate because it saved 3 miles. Lets not factor in that I used to sit through 10 red lights and get to area 10 minutes later... Oh and if its not set up right, and it wont be you will be forced to work backwards through a neighborhood. But the very best part is when your truck is full down teh center and Orion wants you to bounce around between shelves to make deliveries.... I have said it before, Orion is like socialism its sounds good in theory...
Orion won't affect my day to day life as a PT sup. I'm sure I will hear some complaints, but the only thing I will be able to do to help is move it up the food chain and let the FTers deal with it.

Obviously if he is reinstated with full back pay .....he didn't "DO" anything...the termination was UNJUST......funny how management always says there are two sides to every story....when the hourly gives his/her side they change their tune

Nicky.....Dragon believes there are times when they are justified in screwing with people's lives like that....he is management....he has said so. He has also said that he is a nice guy, and to not judge him by what he says on here....you ever heard that one in your building?

Well except for the usual anti-UPS management rhetoric you have not posted one thing about hourly employee's behavior.

No one screwed with the driver's life. We followed the process that's in the contract (now you are mad because you don't want "that" part followed).
If it takes a year than so be it. Sounds like the driver is guilty to me but he has a right to keep grieving to a higher panel until he finds some one sympathetic on the panel who will find in his favor.

In your building it sounds you guys deserve each other.

How about this one.... Driver A gets hurt on the job, gets sent to the quack in a shack that UPS uses. That doctor says he can find no injury and clears the driver. Driver comes back tries to work but is still injured and goes out again. Driver A is fired for filing false paperwork and held out 6 months. It goes all the way to national panel where it never makes it in the room. Corporate says put him back to work and cut him a check. Want to know why, because an actual doctor found two slipped disks in his back. But he was still held out until national panels....

I have not posted one thing about the employees behavior because he was exonerated by the same process you eschew.
I would expect nothing less from your ilk..."sounds like the driver is guilty to me"...just remember Dragon....when an employee that you screwed with snaps.....Please don't stand next to me....you EARNED the reward!
I have dealt with your type for years....I've often surmised that you were probably beat up in high school and shoved in lockers....now that you have 1 SHRED of perceived "power" you're gonna show everyone.....I really do pity you

Lets clarify something, UPS didn't screw with anybody - the employee did something wrong, he was disciplined up to including discharge (by the contract) he grieved it (by the contract) and kept grieving it, he finally found someone who took pity on him and found in his favor.

I have no regrets on everyone I have ever terminated, why because they failed at their job. On everyone one of my terminations I followed the contract ask all of the people I terminated because they still do not work here.

Like the rest of the truck drivers you work with, because that's what you are, when you cannot get someone to see your things your way you resort to petty name calling, what are you going to do next threaten to beat me up? Heck you already hope I catch a bullet. Bring it anytime you want, bring the boys from the local too.

Lets talk about power, I was a truck driver like you, double digit years, learned all the ways not to do the job correctly, get over on my boss, be lazy, drag my feet I think you get the drift. Then I got smart and went into management. So now I know both sides of the coin. I know all the tricks of the trade on your side and I know all the tricks of the trade on this side. Now that's power, anytime I want to kick you in them testicles all you can do is stand there and take it.

Do not have pity on me because I have none for you.

Have fun on Monday in NJ.

end of thread for me.

Is one of the management "tricks of the trade" forging United Way donation forms to pretty your center's contribution numbers? Just curious....
