Working through your lunch break

Take full lunch no matter the dispatch, not your problem if you cannot make businesses or pickups on time. You dont dispatch yourself. Why should the guy on the next route over be able to take his and you cannot?

IE boogeyman
Been here 31 years, and never heard of "valet stops".
Please list other example where drivers "cheat", because that's an old song too. I'm positive there are bad apples out there, but 99.9 percent of the people I know just want to do their job and go home. Lack of trust must be one of the first things taught at SBTS; except for IE. Why is it that they are never questioned, and everything from them is gospel law?
a valet stop is where you leave all the packages, say for an apartment building, in a single location say with the mail clerk

i think you may misunderstand what comes from IE and what doesn't, because it's pretty rare anything we say is "gospel law"

1pm-2pm EVERY SINGLE DAY here

Rain, shine, snow, hail, eclipse, no eclipse, aliens invading earth, 80 stops left, 800 stops left, it does not matter.

How do you guys still have people working thru lunch where you are? They cut down on that here. They freak out in the PCM here if someone stop completes there last delivery and doesn't wait till the next minute to go on meal. They also freak if it's not taken between 3rd and 5th hour. Forget about working through the entire lunch. Lol. That doesn't fly in the 177

Take lunch when u want. And if you want to skip it and get home a hour earlier do that and dont listen to any of these guys that get mad. And any stupid on this... :censored2: in advance

Some days I'd love nothing more than to skip breaks to get home an hour earlier. But I've found that no matter what is done, us lower seniority cover guys are asked to help when done. Doesn't matter if we take full break, half of our break, or skip it, that green light or phone call is coming.

I used to be the maroon skipping break thinking "Oh boy! I'll just bust my ass and bonus 2 hours!" Wrong. All that gets you is more work an hour sooner than it normally would.

I think an hour lunch is totally unreasonable yet they try to force us where I'm at. I absolutely can not stop between the 3rd and 5th hour as our local dictates to take a lunch. My anxiety is simply too high to possibly consider eating that early in the day. I stop at the end to take a half hour dinner break or maybe an hour if my dispatch was reasonable that day.

If they decide to screw me by making me help someone before I get to take a lunch aka dinner I either take nothing and record nothing or just take a few minutes.

I can and will work 10 to 11 hours and not eat because I can't eat until that truck is empty of deliveries.
Completely wrong mindset. I feel bad for you. Couldn't imagine doing this job with that mindset. You're exactly the type of employee they love.

#1 is pure paranoia because whatever we'd gain from you in production we've lost 10x with the late Air
#2 is also paranoia because in general the only allowances that have been shaved were valet stops or other places we found the drivers were falsifying the :censored2: out of their work to run up huge plan days
Holy :censored2:...what's it like in that world of yours lol

We only have to take "some" lunch, i take 10 unpaid and 10 paid break. Hardly anyone takes the full 50, have kids, a life outside of work, wanna get home. Cant believe some locals allow UPS to force taking lunch.

Many are misunderstanding my post about not taking lunch. If I don't take it I DO NOT RECORD it. I just work non stop to get done.

I get paid.

Not taking lunch means you did not record one. Working through lunch means you worked during your recorded lunch.
