Would You Be Willing To Back A White Collar Union In Information Services?

Unionization will lead to a decline in the value of merit. You won't be able to advance much or at all on your merits, and you will have to make grade level progress within the limits defined by union contracts. UPS management will have trouble weeding out ineffective employees with unionization. In theory, at least, unionized workers might become so comfortable and protected that they lose the incentive to work hard. And outstanding employees might lose their get-up-and-go if there's no incentive to excel -- or worse, if they're pressured by the union to not go the extra mile. If you are an A number one worker, you would lose out BIG TIME with unionization. If you don't like working at UPS,"Leave!". To quote the old, idiotic UPS maxim: UPS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. Maybe that could be updated to UPS I.S. is NOT FOR ANYONE.

Unions are for the mediocre, incompetent, and lazy. IT is not the assembly line. We are mercenaries. If you don't like the conditions, stop whining and find something else to do for a living.
