UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced construction is underway at its Lenexa, Kansas hub in the nation’s midsection to add 200,000 square feet and more than 42 percent new processing capacity. The facility will total about 430,000 square feet when completed in 2020 with the latest operational technology, processing efficiency and network flexibility.

UPS buys 65-acre parcel in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, in $7.55 million deal for rare undeveloped tract – Cleveland.com

United Parcel Service, Inc., has purchased 65 acres of former farmland in Middleburg Heights, snapping up a rare undeveloped property of that size in Cuyahoga County during a busy season for the industrial real estate market.

The publicly traded package-delivery titan paid $7.55 million last month for the land at 6678 Engle Road, according to public records. The property sits just north of UPS’s Middleburg Heights small-package hub, located on Englewood Drive, and a stone’s throw from international freight operations and other UPS facilities.

A spokeswoman said the company doesn’t have a project planned for the site.

UPS Launches A300 Cockpit Modernization Program – AINonline

United Parcel Service, Airbus and Honeywell have signed a deal to collaborate on a cockpit upgrade for UPS Airline’s 52 A300-600s meant to extend the life of the fleet for at least another 18 years, the partners announced Monday. The program involves installation of a new flight management system, a new Honeywell RVR 4000 weather radar system, new LCD displays for both pilots, a new integrated standby instrument system (ISIS), a new aircraft communication and addressing reporting system (ACARS), a central maintenance system and replacement of the current enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) with an integrated system. Rather than using individual components for aircraft functions such as FMS, ACARS and CMS, the new integrated avionics system uses processor cards installed in a cabinet.
