if i came to work on monday, wednesday, and friday; and they me told stay home tuesday and thursday (low volume), but schedule me to come in on saturday, does that mean i get paid time and a half on saturday?

    No.
The automatic time and a half starts on your sixth punch in in one week. You have only punched in 4 times as of Saturday under your scenario. That is how it is where I am, your local supplement could be different.

No but what's your job title? Did u have a posted sat start time? If not how early did they inform u?

    UpstateNYUPSer Very proud grandfather.

It sounds to me as though they are trying to give the OP some hours by scheduling him to run Saturday air. Our center does this whenever a casual doesn't get a lot of hours during the week.

In my center, if you are part-time, weekends are automatic overtime no matter how many shifts you work per week.

Assuming that your part-time shift isn't a tues-sat, in which sunday and monday would be automatic overtime.
