If you feel that you have signed the same bids as the people below you that are going cover or 22.4 then you need to talk to a steward and file a seniority grievance right away.

Why would anyone sign up for something when they don’t even read what the contract says for that specific job?

Maybe because of everyone that says to sign every bid that comes up. I do agree with you. Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.

You should sign every bid after you know what it is and what interests you the most. If you’re not sure what a typical position is/does, your steward should.
