They said most of us would be loading. I thought that looked worst of all. The 2 guy that were down unloading made it look like a piece of cake (but I know better ). The loading definitely scared me the most.

Unloading is more physical loading is more mental

Sorting the "slide" or small sorts where the package size will fit through a coat hanger?

"Sort" is a vague term. We would need to know if you saw "high volume pick off", "primary sort aisle" "small sort" or "preload boxline slide sort".

They were sorting in the area with the color coding. Big boxes that looked heavy. Most were men but there were at least 3+ women. She she sai they get paid a $1 extra. (don't know the actual name) but you needed to be there 30 to apply, I think

If the OP wants a job that requires no memory skills....do primary unload.

1)take box, put on belt or rollers;
2) repeat.

No skill pay and a really good work out.

Loading's tough. You'll lose weight. If your meaty, you'll probably call it a day. If your lean, you'll still lose weight, even though you think you have none to spare. Loading will result in a back problem too, as someone else pointed out. Soon someone will be out your back door, yelling at you. That's what they do. Someone will be yelling at him later on, as they did at the beginning of his shift.

When I started they fired people for not learning the sort.

"It never gets good, but it does get better."

During my tour I saw serveral woman on sorting that definitely didn't look easy

Its not hard....it beats loading.

You'll be fine. At one time everyone wanted this part time job, it's not as good as it used to be.

In the meantime get yourself a good pair of work shoes and maybe some insoles and break them in.

That's what I'm afraid of. She gaves us warnings about the truck being packed properly (tight not wobbly) and making sure to remove any packages that didn't belong in that truck immediately.

Driving is more both knees. Preloading is more one knee from all the pivoting you need to do.

Preloading is a different game. I may finish my career on that shift. that was the best me knees and ankles felt in years.

But it's tough on your lower back

go to the tour dressed for work. work clothes for heavy duty labor. work boots, gloves. water bottle. have your hair tied up and out of the way.

bad attitude is also essential........kidding.
