Ugh...it's terrible. I used to drink it as a teenager because it was cheap...like 2 bucks for a 4 pack of 16 oz cans...at like 13% abv...you could get pretty drunk..lol.

Try Googling "Shipwreck beer" An interesting story of a beer found on an 1840s shipwreck that is going to be reproduced by a Finnish brewery. There is a Northwest shipwreck with a cargo of Rainier beer in bottles that are still intact. Not so much can be said about the bottles' contents.

Ahh..okay that explains it...I haven't had Steel Reserve in probably 15 years. I believe it was over 10% octane back then.
