It's incredible what ups does to people who don't know their rights. You got discharged because you probably don't file and don't know your rights. You will probably go to a meeting with hr, your center manager, and your business agent and get offered your job back with time served. Sounds like a good deal, but if they didn't follow the proper progressive discipline stay out of work, go to panel, and enjoy your back pay check. It took me a good 5 years of driving to stand up for my self. I'm sure you could file many greviences for discrimination and harassment as I'm sure others have been doing the same and getting a slap on the wrist cause they are ass kissers.
From now on every time u get discipline and you know others who do the same don't file file file. I keep my eyes and ears open and out center is pretty good at looking out for each other when it comes to one person getting off and the other getting discipline. We had a center manager who had a hard on for anybody who stood up for them selves and didn't let them belittle them. He would attempt to fire them and we would all let them know how we got off with the same thing without even a verbal warning. The center manager is no longer with us, thanks to attorney threats after our union didn't really look into the mess as everybody would get their job back. After after weeks or months off without back pay. Hard to chance panel when u live check to check and just want to get back to work to feed the family
Every center has a few drivers who have been targets and been through all u been through. Honestly their advice is more valuable than a shop Stewart. Befriend them and learn all u can.
