When the Fed starts lowering interest rates you can say they're improving the economy. Assuming they get it right.
The economy won’t improve until gas prices come down. It’s really that simple. Now, gas is going up again, it’s 4.35 for 87 octane here in AZ.

Meh, the federal funds rate has averaged close to 5.5% since 1913. They may not need to tamp down rates if things stay kosher in the economy. We don’t know.
Very much depends on CPI numbers. As long as we continue to get numbers similar to March they won't lower rates. Does it matter? How much debt do we have and how much are we spending on interest to service that debt? If you think a trillion a year on interest is no big deal then go for it.

The PPI numbers are a leading indicator that future CPI may look better.
