How is it a no call?

You CALL... tell them you are not available for work today.

Don't lie, don't say your sick, don't say your kid is sick, just say I cannot come in to work today.... see u tomorrow.

I do this all the time. I have even called in and straight up told them I'm exhausted and don't feel comfortable operating machinery.

My fav call in I did was the day after I covered a route when the bid driver went home. It was a tropical storm. He had long driveways, didn't wanna work so I had to do it

I called in the next day and told them I wasn't Coming because my shoes were still wet and I was worried about blisters. I was out of option days at this point.

I gave silly excuses years ago but mainly now its kept simple.

"Hey (name), it's (name).....I won't be coming in today for personal reasons.

"You're kidding me, I need you. What is it you have to do?"

"I just told you it's personal".

Call is then terminated by myself and I go enjoy my day.

Option days are nice, called from the bait store one morning and had to tell them to hold on as the employee was sloshing water around from the herring tanks as he’s netting bluebacks.
I called in an option day once when I was at a casino in Louisiana, and I had to step out into the parking garage so the dinging and noise from the slot machines wouldn't be heard.:wink-very:

Yes it does. But should it be mandatory?

I'm not worried about it. I won't have enough hours and I have too much seniority.

But if you want me to be a helper for $53 an hour on a Saturday. I'll do it.
Yeah... you’re going out with me this Saturday to help me lower and raise the landing gears on a few trailers... you need to learn what real hard work is ...

Because we don't have any where near enough drivers to begin with. We would run out of hours first. It can't happen.

After meant, they would see how much I made for stupidity

Whatever dude......just make a bold statement and call in sick one day during December. Don't cut them any slack as they don't do nothing special for you/us.
