That my friend is what happens in a Democratic Controlled state.
Then tend to make things up as they want when it's time to advance their personal careers.

Under the same rules for banning the AR-15 are almost all other rifles and some pistols would qualify. But the AG has not declared them restricted, yet.

I recall some democrats saying that they wanted the same types of gun controls as Australia, I wonder if they ever read this story;
Gun-Controlled Melbourne: More Than One Shooting A Week Since January 2015 - Breitbart
Gun-controlled Melbourne, Australia, has witnessed more than one shooting a week every week on average since January 2015.
According to The Age, “Crimes associated with firearm possession have also more than doubled, driven by the easy availability of handguns, semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and, increasingly, machine guns, that are smuggled into the country or stolen from licensed owners.” In fact, “criminals are now better armed than at any time since then-Prime Minister John Howard introduced a nationwide firearm buyback scheme in response to the 1996 Port Arthur massacre.”
The Age summarizes:

  • There have been at least 99 shootings in the past 20 months – more than one incident a week since January 2015
  • Known criminals were caught with firearms 755 times last year, compared to 143 times in 2011
  • The epicentre of the problem is a triangle between Coolaroo, Campbellfield and Glenroy in the north-west, with Cranbourne, Narre Warren and Dandenong in the south-east close behind
  • Criminals are using gunshot wounds to the arms and legs as warnings to pay debts
  • Assault rifles and handguns are being smuggled into Australia via shipments of electronics and metal parts

In his latest book, The War on Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies, John R. Lott Jr. gives readers a glimpse at the impotency of gun control in Australia as a whole. He points out that the confiscatory policies that took in and destroyed over one million guns in 1996 and 1997 had–for all intents and purposes–been undone by 2010, when “the number of privately owned guns was back to the 1996 level.” Lott writes, “While Australia’s population grew by 19 percent between 1997 and 2010, the total number of guns soared by 45 percent.”

BREAKING: Katie Couric Sued for $12 Million For Defamation In Anti-Gun Documentary

BREAKING: Katie Couric Sued for $12 Million For Defamation In Anti-Gun Documentary

Second Amendment rights advocacy organization the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), along with two of its members, today filed a $12 million defamation lawsuit against Katie Couric, director Stephanie Soechtig, Atlas Films, and Studio 3 Partners LLC d/b/a Epix for false and defamatory footage featured in the 2016 documentary film Under the Gun. The film portrays a fictional exchange in which members of the VCDL appear silent, stumped, and avoiding eye contact for nearly nine seconds after Katie Couric asks a question about background checks. An unedited audio recording of the interview reveals that—contrary to the portrayal in the film—the VCDL members had immediately begun responding to Couric’s question.

In the filing, the VCDL, Daniel L. Hawes, Esq., and Patricia Webb allege that the filmmakers knowingly and maliciously manufactured the fictional exchange by splicing in footage that the filmmakers took surreptitiously after telling the interviewees to be silent for ten seconds so that recording equipment could be calibrated. The filing also contains side-by-side screenshots of the film’s footage of the VCDL members and anti-gun advocates, alleging that the filmmakers manipulated lighting to cast shadows on the VCDL members and to make them appear sinister and untrustworthy. “We were horrified to see how Couric and her team manipulated us and the video footage to make us look like fools who didn’t stand up for the Second Amendment,” said Mr. Philip Van Cleave, President of the VCDL. “We want to set the record straight and hold them accountable for what they’ve done. You shouldn’t intentionally misrepresent someone’s views just because you disagree with them.”

The lawsuit, filed in federal court (United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia– Richmond Division), seeks $12 million in compensatory damages, plus punitive damages. The VCDL, Mr. Hawes, and Ms. Webb are represented by Tom Clare, Libby Locke, and Megan Meier of Clare Locke LLP, a boutique law firm specializing in defamation litigation.

Concealed Carry In Missouri No Longer Requires A Permit

The law allows people to carry concealed weapons anywhere it is lawful to carry weapons openly, and will take effect Jan. 1, reports Fox News. Supporters of the bill have dubbed it “constitutional carry.”
Missouri’s new law also includes a “stand-your-ground” measure, stipulating that citizens have a right not to retreat from danger anywhere they are lawfully present.
“The basis of this whole bill is that it allows law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families,” said bill sponsor Sen. Brian Munzlinger

New survey, part of most definitive portrait of gun ownership in decades, shows just 3% of American adults own half of guns in the US.

Americans own an estimated 265m guns, more than one gun for every American adult, according to the most definitive portrait of US gun ownership in two decades. But the new survey estimates that 133m of these guns are concentrated in the hands of just 3% of American adults – a group of super-owners who have amassed an average of 17 guns each.

My girlfriend was a hardcore antigun person because her one of her exes was a :censored2: with them. I started teaching her the basics and helped her pick out her first handgun.

3 months later, she has her CCW, two handguns and a shotgun. I'm building her an AR-15 for Christmas but don't tell her.
