The first 5-speed Allisons had software problems that made them shift at the wrong time. The last one had a cracked case that was leaking fluid. Starting and stopping a vehicle 160 plus times a day puts a lot of wear and tear on them. Very expensive transmissions by the way, the shop has to get permission to replace them from what I have been told.

The new Freightliners have the "shift inhibit" feature to make sure your foot is on the brake when going from reverse to drive and vice versa.

Also when transmission is replaced I hope they are resetting "shift adapts" which could be reducing longevity of not done.

Found it laying in the middle of the road. Post Office DIAD. Almost identical to ours!

Its a P700 package car with a trailer hitch, brakes and wiring for a pup trailer. Our building has about 15 pup trailers and 20-25 hitch cars.
We used to have one P 1000 equipped to tow a TP 60. Dropped the TP 60 off at a business to fill during the day and unloaded on Twi. Lasted several years but has since been discontinued. A real pain to back the TP 60 to an unload door, unhook, and back the package car to another door to be unloaded, hook it all back up again and back up the TP 60 to park for the night and park the P 1000 to be loaded the next morning. Then have the driver drop off the TP 60 before delivering Air or any stops.
