Marijuana the legalization of it?

jumpman23

Oh Yeah
Better off smoking crack...doesn't stay in the system nearly as long. Dirty piss test...that's a bad day.
Crack is addictive marijuana is not. Big difference. Crack is more addictive because your body needs it once it has it in your system. Think of it like a medicine that you need for a particular health issue that you have to treat your body with and your body will not function without it. Same idea. Google it and you will see what im talking about.

Is pot harmful? Yes. So are alcohol, tobacco, salt, fatty foods, high fructose corn syrup, gambling, pornography, and any number of legal things that human beings tend to find desirable.

The relevant question here is not whether or not pot is harmful; the relevant question is "is the governments infringement upon our right to freely choose whether or not to use marijuana justified?" and I would say the answer is "no."

I believe that adults in a supposedly free society should have the right to freely choose what substances they wish to put into their own bodies. I will qualify that by stating that there are substances such as cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines that are so addictive that most humans are incapable of exercising free choice around their use, and they are so toxic that the public good demands that they continue to be prohibited. By any rational standard, however, marijuana cannot be compared to these substances, and there is no legitimate reason for our government to continue prohibiting its use.

Oh, and 4th graders were caught selling pot in school in Greeley......they brought it from home.
What does that have to do with legalization?

When I was in 5th grade I stole a pack of my stepdads cigarettes and brought them to school. When I was in 9th grade I brought a bottle of his whiskey to school and me and 2 of my friends got drunk. Kids will be kids.

If you are going to take the position that marijuana should be illegal because it is a harmful, habit-forming, mind-altering substance...then you at least need to be intellectually consistent and say that cigarettes and alcohol should ALSO be illegal. To take any other position is hypocritical. Banning marijuana is about one thing only; the tax revenue that will be lost once people can start growing a plant in their back yard instead of buying a heavily taxed bottle of alcohol.

I am a recovering alcoholic with 17 yrs of sobriety and it has been about 20 years since I have smoked pot. Despite that fact, if I wanted to score a $25 bag of weed it would take me less than half an hour to find someone to sell it to me. There are at least 10 licensed medical grow operations on my route and many others who grow it for recreational use. Marijuana was decriminalized in Oregon over 40 years ago; posession of less than an ounce is a civil infraction, like a parking ticket, with a small fine. The time is long overdue for our federal government to pull its head out of its ass, leave its citizens alone, and stop trying to outlaw a freaking plant. There are better uses for our tax dollars.

I don't care If it's legal or not. I take no side.

Now, if it's harmful or not is all I'm debating. Anyone says it's not harmful is a fool.

Exactly dude, its probably a lot safer than alcohol anyway. People that don't know enough about it always knock it. There will always be distracters of it just like alcohol. Put anything in the wrong hands and it will be abuse. You give a fat kid too much ice cream and he will be obese and could die of diabetes or heart attack. Nowadays you might as well say theres nothing that you put into your body that is safe according to what you read. The government will make so much money off of the taxes of it its going to be ridiculous. Go to a crop shop and get some quality killer or grow it, id rather pay for quality than to grow some dirt crop lol.
