I don’t understand your point…. The union did a very good job negotiating the contract. Carol failed….a deal should have been reached by early May to keep volume. Company should have caved sooner. Some huge gains in the contract…most notably no more 2 tier.

2 tiers kept drivers from being forced Tue through Sat. Once a driver went RPCD from 22.4 they were free and clear from Tue through Sat. Now a RPCD can be pulled back into that crap by the start of the next work week. So Stupid. The contact put thousands of drivers subject to Tue through Sat.

Thousands of drivers that originally signed up to work Tue thru Sat.
So, what would you do, in a perfect world, to fix this allegedly huge issue?

Sorry, we have Saturday delivery now, it’s not going anywhere. We do have protections from being forced to work a sixth day. We got quite a few things we asked for. Pretending we could tell the company we’re not going to deliver Saturday would be a bad idea.

You surely aren’t delivering UPS packages into mailboxes now, are you?

Volume was going to drop massively either way. The main reason volume is so low is that consumers have changed their behavior, people are spending a much larger chunk of their disposable income on travel. That will slowly revert back to normal over the next few years but after being stuck at home for two years people want to see the world.
