They put out a lay off list for last week. Myself and 20 other drivers were laid off telling us to show up to Pre load and twilight shifts for hours.
Lol I knew that hiring all these 22.4s off the street would backfire when the volume starts to drop and they lay them off. What’s insane to me is that the call the position a combo driver but if a 22.4 is layed off, they don’t get their driving rate, they get their inside rate which will be much less for the new guys. Such a scam.

And this is why you never work both.

Decide if you want to work preload or local sort when not driving.

Most choose local sort so they have the ‘daytime’ off to do stuff and keep similar sleep schedule.

Few choose preload cause they think they can run a partial route after if needed. You end up wasting your first 5-8hrs Of service at inside rate instead of driving and jack up your sleep schedule.

Depending on hub they might allow you to work afew hous of local sort if they need help and you finish your route early enough.

ALWAYS remember to be off the clock 10.5hrs before driver start time to give a 30 minute buffer.

Sound advice except for the 10.5 hours. If a driver can't take a picture or write down the time they punched out and then add 10:01 to that time before starting they probably have other issues.

I restart with 10:01 off probably 3 days a week.
